LEARN THE ART OF ARRANGING FLOWERS
Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio for a 'Bouquet Improvers' class. This workshop is for professional florists or flower arrangers with experience who want to refine their bouquet making techniques. Participants will develop their expertise, dexterity and proficiency in creating a range of handties in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of the traditional twist technique and also the 'hand vase' technique where stems are inserted into the a circle created by the thumb and forefinger. Learn how to create different bouquet shapes using a handtied technique without wires, cages or tapes, bring out the most striking elements, troubleshoot, improve, and develop experience in bouquet making. Focus on blending colours and adding gestural, textured and focal flowers to create a loose and natural look that is effortless and carefully crafted. On this workshop you will create two beautiful bouquets to take home, finished with your choice of our botanically dyed ribbons, wrapped in tissue and your own glass vase and presentation box. The class will include a demonstration and walk through on the techniques, how to choose the right flowers for your bouquet, how to improve the look and longevity of your bouquets at events, troubleshooting, and support to improve your skills.
Guidance will be given on the construction of each design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
Our flower school near Glasgow delivers a programme of sustainable floristry classes and courses that celebrate seasonal flowers, combining the art of garden-style flower arranging with practical tuition on sustainable, foam-free mechanics. We provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourage you to develop confidence and flair by building your experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful.
Each student will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers. We don't use floral foam in any of our work or teaching.
Delicious refreshments will be served to keep the creativity and energy flowing. All refreshments, materials, flowers, and the use of tools and sundries are included in the price of this workshop.
