A Compilation of Pinks, A Timeless Bridal Bouquet, and An Ode to July

Updated: Jul 28

Pinky pinks, blue-y pinks, lilac-y pinks, purple-y pinks

On 20 July 2025, our clients Sam and Alex got married in their garden surrounded by flowers and just 20 of their closest family and friends. It was a joy to put together this bridal bouquet for Sam, a brief that read "I'd like pink, from "barely there" to something like bubblegum, with something surprising I haven't thought of, I trust you!" Two of my favourite elements of any brief; surprises and trust. And so we made this compilation of the purest white sweet peas, sweet peas ever so slightly blushing, soft pink garden roses, scented rosemint, the tiniest gypsophila kermisina, pinky-lilac night-scented stocks, spiked statice suworowii, campanula bells, and "bubblegum" cosmos. The surprise elements were the silvery grey poppies and bronze grasses; the poppies adding an unexpected gradient from pink, to lilac, to a stone-grey-purple, and the grasses catching the light like delicate jewellery.

Papaver Rhoeas "Amazing Grey". A type of annual poppy with delicate petals in focus, surrounded by soft greenery. The background is a blurred mix of pinks and greens.
Papaver Rhoeas "Amazing Grey" has such a complex colour and changes in the light and for the camera. To the eye, its something like when you accidentally wash a white garment with black clothes, or a watercolour wash of black, white and purple mixed together, the crepe paper quality of the petals showing tiny pencil lines of almost black.

Congratulations to Sam and Alex and thank you for inviting us to grow and create flowers for your wedding. Scroll below for more images of this ode to July in the form of a pink bridal bouquet!
