Stay at Days of Dahlia; a unique Scottish stay in the wilderness

Our flower school hosts students from all over the world. In 2023, we welcomed flower lovers from England, Wales, Germany, the US, Canada, and Thailand! We are excited to announce that we now have on-site accommodation to welcome our guests. The Bothan is a charming 3 bedroom, self-catering “bothy” located on our farm in the beautiful countryside of South West Scotland on the Eaglesham Moor.

Bothy (n)

Scots Gaelic

A shelter used as temporary accommodation eg by shepherds, salmon fishers,

mountaineers, ramblers; living quarters for gardeners and workers on an estate, esp

a separate building on a farm. Derived from the word “bothan”.

Bothan (n)

Scots Gaelic

A hut, a shack, a drinking house, a kind of shebeen.

The Bothan is an exclusive rental for those attending the Days of Dahlia flower school. It is a perfectly proportioned and tastefully styled hideaway for solo travellers or groups. With wooden cladding inside and out, this snug property boasts views of the rolling local countryside, the village of Eaglesham, and on a clear day even as far as Ben Lomond and the Campsies.

The Bothan is the perfect place to relax and explore the magical countryside of South Lanarkshire, the White Cart river, Whitelee Windfarm, and the Fenwick Moor. It boasts panoramic views, comfortable beds, crisp sheets, warm blankets, fluffy towels, a log stove, 2x outdoor decks with seating, and 4G wifi. The Bothan is quiet, private, homely, comfortable, and eclectically styled with the hosts on hand in a neighbouring cottage a minute’s walk away. This bothy is a great place to unwind, read, create, learn floristry, spend time in nature, admire flowers, cycle, and walk all from your doorstep.

Unlike the traditional bothies of the Scottish Highlands, our bothy has all the modern

conveniences such as running water and electricity! There is also a wood burning stove and we provide you with logs for the duration of you stay as well as an induction in how to light the fire and keep it going.

If you would like to enquire about attending our flower school and staying in our bothy, please contact Lauren at flowers@daysofdahlia.com for an info pack and more information on how to book.

We can't wait to welcome you to our special part of the world!

Thank you for reading!
