FLORISTRY CAREER COURSE
Intensive course packed full of the practical and business skills required to launch a creative floristry business. We will cover a number of floristry design staples as well as planning events, photography, branding, marketing, insurance, pricing, and running a sustainable business. A kenzan (also referred to as a "frog") is a weighted base of pins which holds flower stems upright creating a 'growing up from the vessel' illusion. A class for professional florists or flower arrangers with experience who want to refine their bouquet making techniques. Participants will develop their expertise, dexterity and proficiency in creating a range of handties in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of the traditional twist technique and also the 'hand vase' technique where stems are inserted into the a circle created by the thumb and forefinger. THE CUTTING GARDEN
Begin with a visit to our flower field followed by a flower arranging session at our studio. On this workshop, we will cut flowers together on the farm before gathering in the studio and guiding you through how to condition them and how to put together a wild, garden-style vase design. We will also host a discussion on how to grow your own flowers in a small space sharing our tips and knowledge on what and when to plant. Floral foam is a toxic, single-use form of plastic which is destined for landfill and causes direct plastic contamination of the marine environment.
