LEARN THE ART OF FLOWER ARRANGING

A kenzan (also referred to as a "frog") is a weighted base of pins which holds flower stems upright creating a 'growing up from the vessel' illusion. It is an essential tool for the modern flower arranger, designer, or florist.

Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio while they walk you through how to use frogs – a simple, elegant and sustainable way to give a natural structure to flower arrangements and can be used across many different designs. Participants will learn how to create a number of informal, light and airy compositions where the stems appear to naturally emerge from the vessel. The class will include a demonstration and walk through on techniques, how to choose the right vessel and stems for your frog, and support you to make a series of beautiful and elegant arrangements.

Guidance will be given on the construction of each design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Lauren will take professional images of your creations to add to your floristry portfolio.

Our flower school near Glasgow delivers a programme of sustainable floristry classes and courses that celebrate seasonal flowers, combining the art of garden-style flower arranging with practical tuition on sustainable, foam-free mechanics. We provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourage you to develop confidence and flair by slowly building your taste and experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful.

Each student will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers from April-October and British-grown flowers and our own dried flower stock from November-March. We don't use floral foam in any of our work or teaching.

Delicious refreshments will be served to keep the creativity and energy flowing. All refreshments, materials, flowers, and the use of aprons and sundries are included in the price of this workshop.
