Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled, professional studio and emerge yourself in the magical world of flowers with our sustainable funeral flowers course. Learn beautiful, alternative, and sustainable methods to create funeral tributes that are meaningful, celebratory and natural. This two day course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to produce three naturally styled sympathy designs using foam-free techniques; a living wreath, a handtied sheaf and a teardrop casket spray. We will demonstrate how to implement our sustainable methods as well as how to approach the business side of sympathy flowers covering working with funeral directors, communicating with those who are grieving, costing, and how to market your business. There will be a willow casket to provide an all-important backdrop for taking photographs for your professional portfolio.
 
This intensive course is packed full of the practical and business skills you require to provide funeral designs and tributes. We will cover a number of floristry design staples and core skills as well as planning, photography, branding, marketing, pricing, and running a sustainable floristry business. With four decades in the floristry industry, we ensure that you leave our course equipped with the knowledge you require to add sustainable sympathy flowers to your reportoire and the confidence to carve out a rewarding and successful career in full time floristry. The aim of the course is to provide a foundation in floristry skills and techniques to find your own style in creating beautiful designs that you can sell.
 
Guidance will be given on the construction of each floristry design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Lauren will take professional images of all of the creations you make over the two days to start to your professional floristry portfolio.
 
Our flower school near Glasgow delivers a programme of sustainable floristry classes and courses that celebrate seasonal flowers, combining the art of garden-style flower arranging with practical tuition on sustainable, foam-free mechanics. We provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourage you to develop confidence and flair by slowly building your taste and experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful. Each student will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers. We don't use floral foam in any of our work or teaching.
 
Delicious refreshments will be served to keep the creativity and energy flowing. All refreshments, materials, flowers, and the use of tools and sundries are included in the price of this workshop.

Hosted at our studio in South Lanarkshire which is 30mins drive from central Glasgow or 45-60mins via public transport with a 30-40mins walk along a country road from the nearest bus stop. We will be in touch prior to the class with more info on traffic links and directions.
