A sustainable, garden-inspired floristry practice starts in the garden and involves having a conscious awareness of your materials; knowing exactly where they came from and how they were grown or growing them yourself. Being attuned to those materials and the season and landscape that yields them requires listening, practice and experience. We have been designing flowers for 46 years and designing with the flowers we grow ourselves on our farm for 8 years. On this workshop we will share what we have learned throughout that gardening and growing journey as well as the principles of garden-inspired floral design that we follow and use in our own practice. This unique workshop will help you to plan and plant your garden with seasonal cut flowers, enhance your personal design style with sustainability, beauty and meaning at the forefront to create floral arrangements to truly love and admire.
 
The class will include a demonstration and walk through on the technique, as well as how to grow and arrange flowers at home. Support and guidance will be given on the construction of the design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
 
Develop your floristry skills and confidence in a beautiful setting and inspiring environment. Lauren and Louisina are two highly experienced growers and artists eager to share their wisdom and passion for growing flowers, seasonal floristry, and crafting exquisite, garden-gathered arrangements. There will be a seasonal selection of our farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers. We never use imported flowers, floral foam or plastic in any of our work or teaching.
