LEARN THE ART OF ARRANGING FLOWERS
Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of dried flowers with all of their muted tones, colours, textures, and scent ranging from seed pods, dried grasses, foliages, sculptural forms, and dried heads. Participants will learn how to create two dried flower arrangements; a handtied bouquet and a wreath in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of these two traditional floristry techniques. Focus on adding gestural, textured and focal flowers to weave together your own seasonal arrangements, encapsulating the full flower growing year in an everlasting circle and wild bouquet. You will finish each of the designs with your choice of our botanically dyed ribbons, wrapped in tissue and presentation box.
The workshop will also include a comprehensive session on how to dry flowers effectively including all of the knowledge, tips and tricks that we have developed over the years including effective drying and storage techniques for different types of flowers. Participants will also learn which flowers to grow for drying with information and a full guide on how to develop your own dried flower garden at home.
Dried flowers are timeless and beautiful and can be displayed in vases or as wreaths, clouds, swags, and much more. They bring warmth, texture, scent, and interest into your home, and are a sustainable way to enjoy flowers all year round.
The class will include a demonstration and walk through on the techniques with full support throughout. Guidance will be given on the construction of each design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Our flower school near Glasgow delivers a programme of sustainable floristry classes and courses that celebrate seasonal flowers, combining the art of garden-style flower arranging with practical tuition on sustainable, foam-free mechanics. We provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourage you to develop confidence and flair by slowly building your experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful. Each participant will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers. We don't use imported flowers, floral foam or plastic in any of our work or teaching.
Delicious refreshments will be served to keep the creativity and energy flowing. All refreshments, materials, flowers, and the use of tools and sundries are included in the price of this workshop.
