Join Lauren & Louisina in their bright, flower filled studio while they walk you through their methods and materials in putting together a garden-style, handtied bouquet. Participants will learn how to master the art of the classic handtie in our highly gestural, intricate, garden-inspired version of the traditional twist technique. The secret of a perfect bouquet is mastering the ‘spiral’ or ‘twist’, where each new stem is arranged at an angle against the previous one. Learn how to bring out the most striking elements in a bouquet and master a classic technique. Focus on blending colours and adding gestural, textured and focal flowers to create a loose and natural look. On this workshop you will create a beautiful bouquet to take home, finished with your choice of our botanically dyed ribbons, wrapped in tissue and your own glass vase and presentation box. The class will include a demonstration and walk through on technique, how to choose the right flowers for your bouquet and we will support and guide you to develop the the technique.

Guidance will be given on the construction of each design with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Lauren will take professional images of your creations to add to your floristry portfolio.

Our flower school near Glasgow delivers a programme of sustainable floristry classes and courses that celebrate seasonal flowers, combining the art of garden-style flower arranging with practical tuition on sustainable, foam-free mechanics. We provide support and inspiration in developing your own floral style and encourage you to develop confidence and flair by slowly building your taste and experience. By allowing yourself to be attuned to nature and its imperfections, your arrangements will in turn be more authentic and more beautiful.

Each student will have an exciting and varied selection of our seasonal, farm-grown flowers and foliage to work with. Our workshops always use our own farm-grown flowers. We don't use floral foam in any of our work or teaching.
